You may be thinking now that I have meals on hand, how could I help someone else? One great beauty of the once-a-month cooking method is the spill-over: we’ve saved time and money, and now we have bounty to give. And what could be simpler than giving a meal?
We want to share the journey of simple generosity with you, encouraging each other and sharing tips and tools. Here’s how:

  • Visit us at Facebook/Once-A-Month Cooking HERE to share your giving-a-meal story -- whether you’ve had company, have taken a meal to a friend, are doing OAMC for someone having surgery or expecting a baby, etc. Mimi has done the latter for many years. She’ll give her friend the shopping list, and after they’ve purchased the food, she’ll come to their home and prepare a cycle of meals. Imagine that for a baby gift! if you want to do any of the above but can’t quite get there yet, voice your challenges and get some help and encouragement from once-a-month cooks!
  • Return here often, because we’re dreaming big! We’ll share stories from Facebook/Once-A-Month Cooking, and give updates on exciting connections we plan to launch. One will connect meal givers via the internet with people needing meals in local communities. And the other will connect donations from OAMC families with a family in another culture whose daily challenge is having enough to eat.

You will be the beneficiary, as you simply give a meal.
